Hi!!! I’m Trisha Phillips, your Northern Kentucky Birth Keeper! I am a nature loving, spirit-centered wife and homeschooling mama to 6 beautiful kiddos with one more joining us in June! I’m a born and raised Kentuckian with an adventurous wondering free spirit. We recently bought our dream farm on 20 acres in Falmouth, KY where we plan to start homesteading for our family and the community in the next year or two. I also run a homeschool co-op here on the farm where we stay outside all day, regardless of weather, and learn about wild herbs and farming. Its been a blast!!!
My journey into birth began at 13 when I attended an older friend’s unmedicated hospital birth. I was blown away and in awe at the miracle of creation and undisturbed birth. In my 20s I began my own birthing and mothering journey as well as attended friends’ births frequently which continued to ignite my passion. For reference, my first son was a planned cesarean due to being breech (which I would totally redo if I could), second was supposed to be a VBAC, but I was wrongly diagnosed with a clotting disorder which then made me “too high risk” for a VBAC so he was born via cesarean as well. Then I went on to have an unmedicated hospital VBA2C (vaginal birth after 2 cesareans), 2 home births with a beautifully supportive midwife, and now for this baby, we are planning a free birth (without any medical professionals). As we walked through some personal traumas with my first son’s diagnosis of cerebral palsy and my own birth trauma, we, as a family, learned about alternative and holistic living and healthcare. I found another spark in my soul. The universe took these 2 passions, mixed them together, and set a blazing fire for holistic birth work in my heart. Birth, both the way it unfolds AND the way we process it, is so very crucial for baby and the family throughout their entire lives. In early 2022 I took the leap and completed a 4-month doula training (Indie Birth) in order to provide my support in a more official and well-rounded manner. Now I serve women from preconception through postpartum and support them as we learn, grow, plan, conquer fears, process, and have fun together!! I’m grateful to have the opportunity to walk alongside you in sisterhood through such a sacred space in your family’s life.
